MODERN WOUND CARE PRODUCTS

OPERATING ROOM PRODUCTS

Products that are effective at all stages of the wound provide faster healing of the wound.

Sterile surgical gloves, scalpels and ioban drapes used in the operating room are the products used in hospitals.

LaproFlex

The LaproFlex is a steerable laparoscopic instrument designed to enhance surgical precision and flexibility. It features a 60° bend angle and 360° tip rotation, allowing surgeons to manipulate instruments with greater control. The ergonomic handle supports intuitive operation, and the instrument does not require installation as it fits a 5 mm trocar. It has a 320 mm shaft length, providing optimal access and maneuverability in minimally invasive procedures.

The LaproFlex offers various models like dissectors, graspers, scissors, and hooks to suit different surgical needs.

Clinical Benefit

The LaproFlex devices offer significant benefits by providing optimal views and approaches to target areas, especially in confined spaces. They allow precise alignment of the end-effector with tissue planes, reducing the risk of complications.

The LaproFlex adds degrees of freedom similar to robotic instruments, enhancing surgical flexibility and positioning without the high costs associated with robotic systems.

Mesh Use in Breast Surgery: Types, Benefits, and Key Considerations

In breast surgery, especially in post-mastectomy implant-based reconstruction, the use of surgical mesh has become increasingly common in recent years. Mesh provides essential support for the implant, helping achieve a more natural breast shape, reduce complication risks, and facilitate a smoother recovery. Choosing the right mesh is critical for both the surgeon and the patient.

Types of Mesh

1. Biological Mesh (Acellular Dermal Matrix – ADM)

Made from human or animal-derived tissues.

Supports tissue integration naturally and can improve aesthetic outcomes.

2. Synthetic Mesh ( Polydioxanone )

Often more cost-effective and durable.

Highly biocompatible, integrates quickly with tissue, and can help lower complication risks.

Choosing the Right Mesh

The optimal mesh type depends on the surgeon’s expertise and the patient’s clinical condition, ensuring the best possible functional and cosmetic results.
